As women, we can become so disconnected from our bodies. Medications often don’t fix what is going on under the surface. Some imbalances are far more complicated than a pill can fix, and some of your symptoms which you see as ‘random’ may be a specific set of symptoms part of a Chinese Medicine ‘pattern’ that we see in clinic every day. At Awaken, we want to help bring you back into your body, live with the seasons and tune back into the signs and symptoms your body sends you. We create a tailored treatment plan to address the problems that brought you into the clinic. The plan includes your acupuncture treatments, at intervals relevant for your condition, Chinese herbs and diet therapy, lifestyle advice including what form of exercise is best for you. We look at your life holistically and the emotions you may be holding onto and contributing to your health condition. We ‘unpack’ what has led you to this point so that we can create a lasting change in your health.

Kate’s passion for natural medicine began in 2009 when her mother was diagnosed with an aggressive, terminal cancer. Kate was introduced to Acupuncture and Naturopathy as part of her mothers’ palitive care and it was extraordinarily helpful at increasing her quality of life and time left on earth.
FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF AWAKEN ACUPUNCTURE
It was an intensely sad and frightening time for her family yet there was a huge lesson to be learnt; that life is the sum of your relationships, your friends, your pets, your walks in the park, your meals and your hopes for the future. Our health (both physical and mental) should be our number one priority and you must enjoy your days because life is oh so short.
After this life-changing experience, Kate knew that she had to not only bring meaning into my own life by following her passion but also help others to live the happiest, fullest, healthiest lives they can live. After 13 years working in the corporate world within the Human Resources industry, Kate started her own Acupuncture practice focusing on Women’s health in a dreamy spa-like space.
Kate sees her greatest accomplishments in life as being an Acupuncturist that has helped thousands of clients take stock of their lives and awaken to the possibilities that a balanced body and mind can bring them. She loves to treat mood disorders such as anxiety, help manage stress and it’s manifestations in the body, menstrual disorders, sleep disorders, gut and skin concerns,
natural fertility & IVF support, pregnancy and post-partum care including natural labour inductions. Her treatments are evidence-based as well as inititive and rooted in a genuine desire to help her clients.
